What Channel Is the Vikings Cardinals Game on

Alrighty, folks, we are about four hours away from kickoff of the Minnesota Vikings' Week 2 NFL matchup, as they travel out to the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Yes, the Vikings are a part of the late window this week, and they'll be there next week as well. So, we want to help you figure out the best way for you to be able to follow along with all of the action from Arizona. Let's get to all of that information right now.

Television Info

This game will be one of four late afternoon games in the National Football League, which will push the kickoff back to 3:05 PM Central on Sunday afternoon. The game will be broadcast on FOX, and will feature Gus Johnson and Aqib Talib on the call. . .which is reason for you to either turn up the volume or hit "mute" on your television. As always, your mileage may vary. If you're not sure about whether or not you're in the local broadcast area for this one, here's the weekly map from 506 Sports. The Vikings/Cardinals game is, appropriately enough, shown in purple.

FOX does not have a doubleheader this week, so those of you in the purple area will not have an early game on FOX this week. You'll have one on CBS, however.

If you're using the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package to watch this one, you'll have to point the receiver to Channel 714.

For our men and women in uniform overseas, the American Forces Network will be showing this one live on AFN Sports 2. Wherever you are, if you're watching this one live it's going to be a late night. Kickoff is scheduled for 2100Z, which translates to a start time of 2200L for viewers in Central Europe, 2300L for everyone that's on Arabia Standard Time, and 0500L on Monday morning for fans in Japan and Korea.

Radio Info

Once again, the Vikings Radio Network and all of its affiliates will be bringing you live broadcasts of every Vikings game for 2021. If you're traveling around an area where there's an affiliate or you just prefer the radio to the television, check out their site and find the affiliate in your area.

If you're going to be using satellite radio, you can get this week's game from either Sirius Channel 137 or XM Channel 381. Those channels will bring you the Vikings Radio Network feed. If you're using the Sirius XM app, the Vikings' permanent home there is on Channel 820.

Referee Info

According to the gang at Football Zebras, this week's officiating crew will be headed by Bill Vinovich. The Vikings last saw Vinovich's crew last November at U.S. Bank Stadium, as that was the crew that handled the Vikings' 31-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Weather Info

We don't know. . .at least as of the time I'm writing this. . .whether or not the retractable roof on State Farm Stadium will be open for this one or not. Given the forecast from our friends at WeatherNation, however, I would be quite surprised if it was. Temperatures for kickoff are forecast to be a balmy 96 degrees (but it's a dry heat) with light winds out of the southwest. It's gonna be a hot one because. . .well, you know, it's a desert.

Streaming Info

Since this is a FOX game, you can watch this one on FOX Sports online by logging in with your TV provider credentials. You can also get the game on NFL GamePass, or by checking out a service such as Fubo TV.

As far as illegal streaming, I won't belabor the point like I usually do. Don't promote illegal streams here or you'll be banned. Do not pass "Go," do not collect $200.

Post-Game Info

Following the game, we will be offering not one, but two live post-game shows. Vikings Report with Drew and Ted will be offering up their live show with Drew, Ted, and Chris, while our friends from Climbing the Pocket will have a live post-game show for your viewing pleasure as well. The Vikings Report show will be on their YouTube channel and getting a post here with a video embed, while the Climbing the Pocket show will be on their YouTube channel as well as the Daily Norseman FaceBook page.

That should be pretty much everything you need in order to follow along with all of the action from the season-opening clash between the Arizona Cardinals and your Minnesota Vikings from State Farm Stadium. We'll have Open Threads for each quarter, with the first one dropping approximately an hour before kickoff, so we hope to see you here then!
